Christian Puppies for Sale?????

I really, really didn't want to have to weigh in on this, but . . .

Have you ever noticed that some of the scariest animal-owners, breeders or even puppy-millers are also the loudest about being Christians? I say it's none of my business, I'm not going to their homes to check out the rumors so I don't want to hear them.

But still, where there's smoke, there's probably fire.

I've known plenty of people who say they represent God, but then behave like the Devil. In fact, in regards to breeders, our favorite Devon Rex kitty came to us with an extremely bad heart murmur, and covered in scars. This kitty was nothing like the photos the breeder sent of a beautiful, healthy-looking kitten "guaranteed to" be a show winner. Not surprisingly, the breeder's many declarations of faith in Christ and love of family on her website made me choose her. I wasn't the first, or the last to have this experience with her sick kittens and broken guarantees.

We live and we learn.

Now I'm a breeder, and I don't think anyone should try to use God's name to give themselves or their breeding program credibility, so for years I deliberately censored my speech so that I didn't talk about God and dogs in the same breath, nor put any references to my faith on my website.

But then one day I thought, this is sick and wrong.

My faith is the core of who I am and it's dishonest to leave God out when I'm talking about the dogs (that he created). So I'm going to be me, where ever I am, whatever I'm doing.

But for those of you who talk big about God on your websites or just plain talk big about God and then do things that make the rest of us shudder, I have a challenge for you.

I don't believe that you're deliberately trying to trick people by using God's name on your site or in your sales-emails. At least, I don't want to believe you use "faith talk" as an advertising gimmick.

No, I don't think you mean to fall into horrible behavior again and again, while professing faith in Christ. I think you're .... trying. But I'm not sure you get it. So my challenge is this: Do you really know what the true "Gospel" is, according to the Bible?

The Gospel message, or Salvation is all about realizing your spiritual bankruptcy and total inadequacy... realizing you are never going to be good enough, then trusting Jesus's atoning payment for your wrongs, and Loving God ------ "if you love me, you'll obey me," Jesus said. (click those hyperlinks to see the scriptures)The Gospel is about dying to your old self, letting go of the steering wheel of your life, letting HIM fill you with HIS life, HIS power and living for HIS kingdom (not building your own). We cannot do this on our own, but when we decide to let HIM be the boss, he gives us HIS power to be what he created us to be.

You'll know you're filled with HIS power, obeying HIM and living for HIS kingdom when you have the desire and the ability to LOVE people, instead of looking out for your own interests. This doesn't come natural to us! We know it's a miracle when we care more about what others need than we do about what we want.

If you do finally get it, it'll change your life forever. Not just change your life as in you're trying harder, doing better. NO, I'm talking about an all-out miracle. I'm not picking on you, I just want you to ... get it.

AND if you're not a breeder, you don't talk about God on your website etc. and you're wondering what in the world is this all about, or you're thinking hey, there are many flavors of Christianity and who can sort through them all anyway? - don't be deceived. There are actually only two kinds of Christians: True Christians and False Christians.

In America, most are of the false kind. In places where converting to Christianity means the death sentence, most are the true kind. It's confusing, yes. Life is a rat race, and the world of religion is a maze.

But what are you, a man or a mouse? You don't have to act like a rodent, trying to find your way through. You have the ability to STOP and LOOK UP.

So stop, right now. Look up and say HEY, ARE YOU THERE? CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET OUT OF THIS MAZE?

If you're serious, from your heart, and willing to accept whichever path HE says to take, then you'll get your answer.
